Another Successful Surgery

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers! Callie is out of her second successful surgery! It was only about 10 minutes from the time they called out to say that surgery had started until the Doctor came to speak to us. From what her Doctor said, everything was a success and she handled it great! We still won't get to see her for a little bit while they get her settled in and recovered. We will give you more details later as we understand them more. We feel so blessed to have all of you supporting us and to have the skill and knowledge of the medical teams that have had a hand in Callie's progress. We thank God everyday for giving us such a little fighter!

  2. This is absolutely wonderful news!!! We certainly are blessed with a little fighter. Now that this is behind her, Callie will definitely look forward to another wonderful meal of Mommy's milk! She will put on the weight then.

Thank you for keeping us up to date with the blog. It has been a great way of communicating both ways!

Please give her a kiss from us. We love all of you!

  5. What an amazing child God has given you! When Callie is a rambunctious toddler and you think back to these first days and months, you will remember how precious every bit of this progress was, both big and small, and you will re-treasure every moment of this difficult journey that God has laid out for you. Take some time for all three of you to rest; you need & deserve it!

    We love you,
    Bev & Bill

  7. Callie,

You did it little girl! You are so strong and such an inspiration to all of us. Get some rest and pretty soon you'll be able to start drinking Mommy's milk again and you'll break through the 2 lb mark! We heard Mommy and Daddy got to hold you again last night. That must have felt great.

I hope to be able to come meet you real soon. Your cousin, Jack and I love you so very much.

    Love,
    Great Aunt Kim
    XOXOXO

  8. I watch the progress from afar. I am so happy to see that every turn of the road; Callie is fighting. The love you have for her is what is making her fight. Daddy's hands and mommy's hands give her the strength she needs.
Daddy and Mommy, find your strength from the people who gave you life. Your mother's hands are there to give you strength.
I wish for all of you: health, strength and happiness.
    From the north country.

  10. Some more great news guys...What a tough cookie she is! We are happy everything went smoothly for your little angel and that she is gaining weight!! Hopefully she can start getting some goodies in her belly now.

Marci, I just wanted to let you know that everyone at UCMC is asking about you and thinking of you. In fact, Scott and Lee fired a stitch the other day and told me to tell you "this one's for Marci"! Thought maybe you'd get a little laugh out of that.
In any case, everyone is pulling for you guys as I'm sure you already know.

We will continue to pray for and think of you. Callie has shown so much strength during her first three weeks. We admire her and her perseverance! If you guys show just half of her strength, you're in great shape. Take care of yourselves. Keep it up Callie!

    XXXX,
    Meghan & Dan

I met one of your NICU nurses from St. Jo's last night. Her name is Kate and she knew exactly who Baby Callie was! I filled her in on Callie's recent adventure to Hopkins. She couldn't say enough nice things about all of you!

Hang in there! We are all praying for you!!!!
