Surgery on hold

After a scare this morning a repeat ultrasound showed that Callie's ventricles are not decompressed anymore. At the current time they are slightly larger than what they typically should be. That's the good news (they are not to far beyond normal), the bad news is that there still is something mechanically wrong with the reservoir and it needs to be fixed. Neuro will be watching her over the next 48hrs with repeat ultrasounds and most likely operate on Wednesday, maybe sooner if Callie becomes symptomatic. Thank you for all of your support and prayers, we will update again when we know more!

  3. Well, it is true that you told all of Callie's admirers that every day can change. So, I take this as just a bit of a down day and the ups will soon follow, once again. In the mean time, I will keep Callie in my thoughts and prayers. During this Easter week, reflecting on the miracle of the resurrection reminds all of us that with God, all things are possible. Let's keep praying!

  5. Callie,

Rest up little one so you feel strong for your possible surgery on Wednesday. We'll pray the reservoir can be fixed easily so that you can get back to feeding and growing.

    Love,
    Kim and Jack
