Happy New Year-a little late!

Happy New Year everyone! Sorry for the delay in posting, it has been a busy week. We first wanted to take the chance to thank everyone again for all of your love and support in 2o09. While it was one of the most difficult years of our lives, it was also the best. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful daughter. She continues to amaze us everyday. We plan on continuing with the blog in 2010, so that those who are interested, can continue to follow Callie's progress!
The last week has been an exciting one...on New Year's Day, Callie said her first word, "Mama"!! It was the sweetest thing! And she said it twice in front of Mommy, Daddy and Grammi, it was amazing! Callie also has learned to clap. She isn't isn't fully clapping yet with open hands, but she does this partially open hand clap whenever you "yeah" or praise her. Sometimes, she will even do it before you prompt her...she is a smart girl and knows when she has done something to impress us!!

  4. That is such a great family pic! And what a great start to the New Year Mama! I'm glad you're planning to continue the blog. Unfortunately it's not as easy to catch up like it was in college when you lived right down the hall or down stairs, so the blog really helps!

  5. It was a wonderful 2009 for you, and an incredible 2009 for us watching you bravely handle the challenges that life brought you. Now, you are Mommy and Daddy to a little girl who has no equal. How very appropriate that you named your blog "Callie our little fighter" when she was three days old. Now she's almost a year old and never once gave up her fight. She has triumphed over so many obstacles and continues to provide inspiration to all of us. We asked Tara to watch over Callie and the both of you when she was born. Perhaps with a little help from Tara, Callie has made it this far and is right on track to be Mommy's stubborn little princess. We hope parenthood is all that you had hoped it would be and much more. Give Callie a kiss from us. Happy New Year!
